Overview

The Humanities faculty at South Bromsgrove High School comprises the subject departments of Business Studies, Geography and History.  The faculty also offers A level Economics and Sociology.  Whilst the faculty generally operates as a federation, it is united by common approaches to key issues such as quality assurance, development planning, CPD, public examination reviews, performance management etc.  The faculty is currently staffed by thirteen full-time teachers; all of whom are specialists in Humanities disciplines.  The Business Studies, Geography and History departments are all located in a suite of ten classrooms on the school’s second floor.  Several of these rooms are fitted with computers and there is a faculty ICT cluster in the central work area.  All of the subject departments of the Humanities faculty consistently enjoy an impressive rate of exam success at all levels.  However, staff are committed to the cause of raising standards still higher by providing a rich and rewarding learning experience for all students.
