Design

Year 9

Students at Key Stage 3 have the opportunity to work in all areas of the Technology Faculty before choosing their GCSE options in the Spring Term. This will include modules in Food, Resistant Materials,  and Textiles. Within these subjects they will work on Systems & Control and Graphics. Students will develop practical and design skills, considering moral, social, environmental and cultural values and be encouraged to be creative and innovative. 

Year 10 & 11 Year 12 & 13

Product Design 3D is taught at AS and A2 Level. Product Design is in everything we make, but it's also between those things. It's a mix of craft, science, storytelling and philosophy.
Product Design is an exciting course that allows students to work beyond their comfort zone and to encounter new experiences to expand their creativity and knowledge of the subject. Students are required develop an understanding of materials, techniques, processes and manufacturing theories and methods and apply them to self directed coursework projects to develop products from conception to reality with a high emphasis on creativity and flair.
