In year 9 students are offered a varied and enriching programme of study, which will prepare them for KS4 and encourage engagement with the subject. From the Spring Term in Year 9 all students are prepared for AQA Syllabus A for both English and English Literature.   Students have the opportunity to study a whole novel, a play in performance, a variety of poems and non fiction texts. They also write their own poetry, short stories and non fiction texts such as film reviews and analysis. All of year 9 will have a chance to use a range of ICT and media resources to enhance their learning experience. This includes the study of a film, The Truman Show, advertising and the internet, together with practical use of Movie Maker, interactive computer activities and Podcasting to enable independent and creative learning.
