At AS and A2, Mathematics consists of Core and Applied Mathematics. Core looks at the mathematical techniques which are fundamental to the subject. This includes algebra, trigonometry and calculus. Applied involves the application of these techniques and is divided into Statistics – analyzing data; Mechanics – examining forces; and Discrete Mathematics – solving real life problems.
