Personalised Learning

Personalising learning is an integral part of provision at South. It involves tailoring curriculum and teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students.   It has 5 key features and the examples below are some of the ways we provide support and challenge for our students:

1. Effective teaching and learning. 

• Use of differentiation to provide challenge and support

• Different methods of setting and grouping students depending on subject

2. Curriculum entitlement and choice

• Providing a breadth of curriculum

• A variety of accreditation from GCSE to Asset Languages

3. Assessment for Learning

• The ‘Learning Conversation’

• Annual Review Day

• Different ways of providing feedback on work

4. Organising the school (student voice, ICT, displays)

• The Learning Council and Year Councils

• Work on display around school as well as tips and guidance

5. Beyond the classroom  (pastoral, mentoring etc)
