Attendance

We believe that every student of South Bromsgrove High has a fundamental right to a broad and balanced education supported by parents and staff encouraging the maximum attendance possible. We aim to promote an ethos whereby parents are encouraged to work with the school where there are issues with attendance. We provide an efficient and effective system for monitoring attendance and punctuality to school and to lessons.
Parents are reported to regularly with regard to student attendance and we provide opportunities for public recognition of outstanding attendance – linked to the School’s reward system.In Year 9 and again in Year 12, parents are encouraged to read, sign and keep a copy of the Home School Partnership which specifically highlights the importance of good attendance. In addition, certificates for 100% attendance are awarded to students in Year Group assemblies. Students are made well aware of their responsibility to achieve a very high attendance rate to ensure good academic progress.
