On Wednesday 19th December, the South Sisters, an all-female choir from South Bromsgrove High School, spent a wonderful afternoon on Cottage Ward at the Princess of Wales Community Hospital. They sang a mixture of pop songs, show tunes and, of course Christmas Carols to the staff, patients and their families. Led by music teacher, Miss Charlie McKenzie, the students performed at the nursing station filling all of the bays in the ward with festive music. This was the last of many community visits as the South Sisters had already performed at Finstall First School, Chadsgrove School and the Primrose Hospice following the school’s annual Christmas Concert on Wednesday 5th December. Miss Mckenzie said ‘The students involved in the choirs and the orchestra worked extremely hard to prepare for our Christmas Concert and I was very proud of them’. Marisa Manning, Ward Manager at Princess of Wales Hospital, thanked the students and said ‘The Christmas Concert really put the patients in the festive mood’.
