"Through the NPQML project I learnt that you cannot be insular as a leader and that although what you are doing is important to you, you need to keep in mind the bigger picture.  I also realised that you can’t control everything and that you need to allow for human foibles and differences in personality and approaches to tasks.  As long as everyone was working towards achieving the final goal I learnt only to intervene when that is truly being compromised.  One cannot underestimate the importance of emotional intelligence and force of personality in creating a clear, shared vision with the ultimate goal improving the students’ experience."                       Middle Leader and NPQML delegate.

NPQML (National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership) is a national qualification that provides recognition of your leadership development and professional achievement as a middle leader, supporting you to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence that you need to lead a high-performing team in a school and to improve classroom practice.

Training with us

South Bromsgrove Teaching School  offers NPQML qualifications for teaching professionals who would like to take the next steps in their career development.  Our programme is delivered in partnership with Worcestershire Global Leadership Academy (WGLA).

Our facilitators  are outstanding middle or senior leaders who have undergone training specifically for this purpose.  Materials are delivered in an engaging and interactive manner and we are very keen to develop a cohort identity which allows candidates to support each other’s learning journey.

Who is this qualification for?

In order to secure a place on the qualification candidates must be a middle leader with responsibility for leading a team (eg. a key stage/subject/curriculum leader, head of department or pastoral leader).

What the course includes

Each module requires blended learning. This typically consists of workplace learning and practice activities, face-to-face activity, including peer and facilitated learning and reading, reflection and online learning.

To achieve the qualification candidates will need to successfully complete three modules, with a focus on driving successful team performance and improving classroom practice.
