Timing

Development and tracking of soft-skills through PiXL Edge

All students will enrol on and seek to gain the Apprentice Award through completing the necessary requirements of 10 activities developing and showing leadership, organisation, resilience, initiative and communication.

Launch assembly 20 Sep. Students work on this  throughout the year

Futures Day: PSD sessions and off-timetable block to research careers paths in preparation for choosing options. Use of the online tool Kudos. Visits to each form group from up to four people from work places.

15 Nov

KS4 pathways: work is done in PSD sessions and an evening offered for carers and parents to meet with teaching staff to discuss KS4 pathways.

Sample taster lessons in a range of KS4 courses that may not have been experienced previously

Feb

Careers Fayre: All students have the opportunity to attend the Careers Fayre held on AR day to improve their awareness of local organisations that offer educational, apprenticeships, or other training pathways.

1 Mar

Activities week: enrichment opportunities provided in extracurricular areas as well as mindset, STEM and Wellbeing. Visits to a number of local services and businesses and/or university.
