Life in the Sixth Form
Students studying in the Sixth Form at South receive an outstanding quality of education and care, in a safe, inclusive environment.
Students benefit from teachers who are specialists in their subject area, varied teaching resources, personalised support and the opportunity to participate in a wide range of extracurricular and supercurricular opportunities.
Students can expect to leave us equipped with the tools for future success in higher education, training, or the world of work.
Students in the Sixth Form are able to study A level and BTEC courses. This is complemented by an extensive enrichment curriculum, which consists of a range of courses to add breadth and challenge to student programmes.
Students in the Sixth Form also follow a structured PSHE curriculum that is designed to promote their social, moral, spiritual and cultural development. Students will study a range of topics designed to prepare them for life outside of school, including sessions such as safer driving and managing finances.
Students are provided with careers information, advice and educational guidance (CIAEG) within PSHE, and will have the opportunity to research their post-18 options and apply for university courses, apprenticeships and other alternative pathways.
